Writing is when you sit in a room by yourself, talking to people who aren’t there (sometimes without moving your lips!)… which is why, like many writers, I enjoy doing interviews and readings. It’s nice to get some response to the work: to see a nod of recognition, a look of surprise, or just hear a chuckle at something you hoped would be funny.
